9.10.68. Silent. Mexico. Students speak to press from prison (the reason is unclear). The two young men give a press conference, surrounded by reporters and television crews, as well as armed soldiers.

30.7.66. Silent. Buenos Aires, Argentina. Students and professors refuse to sign loyalty oath to Minister of Education and are subsequently arrested by an armed federal force which breaks into the university. Soldiers force entrance to university and police arrest students inside. Shot of bloodied student in police bus. A line of students leave the building with hands on their heads or their hands raised.

5.8.61 Inter-American Conference, Punta Del Este, Uruguay. No sound. Large hall, flags along one of the walls with delegates seated in rows. Cuban delegates (including Che Guevara) talking.

Sound returns: President Kennedy's message offering billions of dollars in aid to Latin American countries is read aloud stating that the offer of this money is the first in a continuing and expanding effort to help build a better life for the people of the hemisphere. Round of applause. Camera focuses on the delegates from Latin American countries including El Salvador, Ecuador and Chile.
